Aryan Taneja

I am a Software Engineer at Netflix (Open Connect Foundations and Infrastructure) in Los Gatos, working on high-throughput serving systems. I completed my M.S. in Computer Science (Research track) at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign in May 2026, advised by Prof. Deepak Vasisht. I also received the J.N TATA Scholarship for Higher Education, and in 2025 I was selected as one of 200 Heidelberg Young Researchers.

Previously, I interned at Netflix (Open Connect Transport R&D), working on transport protocol performance. Thanks to my mentors Renata Teixeira, Reese Enghardt, and Grenville Armitage! Before that, I worked at Microsoft Research for ~2 years with Venkat Padmanabhan, Debopam Bhattacherjee, and Rohan Gandhi. I have also interned at MathWorks in the Engineering Development Group.

My work spans distributed systems, networking, and systems for LLMs. More specifically, I have worked on transport and congestion control, efficient LLM serving (including energy-efficient inference), and edge computing for video streaming.

Before joining Microsoft, I graduated from IIIT-Delhi with a B.Tech in Computer Science & Engineering. I worked with Prof. Arani Bhattacharya, Prof. Sanjit Kaul, Prof. Koteswar Rao and Prof. Mukulika Maity for my undergraduate research & thesis.
